What To Know About The Alamos Golf Course In Algarve

There are so many different places where you can just enjoy the peacefulness of playing the game of golf. However, there are not many places that allow you to do that all year long. Luckily, Portugal is one of the few places in the world that offers some of the best weathers and ideal conditions for golf.

If you were looking to go on a little trip with your friends, then the Alamos golf course in Algarve would be a good location. It is located just north of Portimão and you can definitely enjoy your round there.

The course and its details

To put it simply, it is a relatively short course of 5683 metres in length, which translates to roughly 6300 yards. That’s a rather decent Par 71 and not to mention the design of the course is spectacular! The course is known for its spectacular views and there are two massive lakes that might prove to be slightly challenging if you hit your ball off line. Not to mention the fairways are also pretty tight and well protected by plenty of bunkers. This means you have to be very strategic with every single shot that you hit – these are the characteristics of a good golf course! Don’t think it’s easy if you can hit the ball straight though because there are many trees that would block your shot at times and again you must think before you execute your shot. Obviously, if you are looking to challenge yourself and have fun, then you should seriously consider this the Alamos course.

One thing to bear in mind, if you normally play golf in the United Kingdom, then it might take some time for you to adapt to the Tifton 419 Bermuda grass here at the Alamos course. As you may be aware, the Bent grass in the U.K. plays a totally different game compared to Bermuda! So that’s one thing that you should definitely know before travelling there. The most apparent effect would be the way you pitch – it’s going to require a slightly different technique if you want to play well in Portugal!

However, the Alamos course is not all about golf; you should be enjoying yourself there as well. The Alamos course is just one of three courses located in the stunning Morgado do Reguengo Resort and that means you can be doing other things as well if you wish it.
